Pain Therapy

Relieve Pain. Restore Function.
Chronic pain occurs when pain continues beyond the expected time frame for healing. Our experienced physicians offer a variety of treatment options to relieve your pain and get your life back to normal.

Pain Therapy Treatments

At MD Pain, treatment is individualized to the patient. We begin by determining the cause of the pain. We then offer treatment according to best practice guidelines. In every step of treatment, the patient is an active part of the decision making process.

Medication

When the pain is mild, over the counter medications can alleviate pain. There are topical forms of these medications as well. For stronger chronic pain, prescription medications may be used for treatment if necessary.

However, with any medication, one must weigh the benefits vs. the side effects.

Injection Therapy

In some cases, we’ll recommend using injection therapies to relieve your pain. We offer a wide variety of injection therapies that include trigger point injections to treat muscle pain, botox for migraine headaches and spasticity, fluoroscopically guided injections into joints and the area around the nerves, and cement injected into fractured vertebral bodies.

Implantable Devices

Implantable devices our physicians can use to alleviate pain include spinal cord stimulators and dorsal root ganglion stimulation.

Alternative / Natural Pain Therapy

At MD Pain, we also recommend a variety of alternative, or natural, pain therapies and can help coordinate with a physical therapist, chiropractor, or other specialist that can provide this type of care.

Physical therapy can improve movement function and strength and chiropractic treatment helps to relieve pain through adjustments and manipulations. Certain exercise programs can also provide pain relief, including water therapy, swimming, cycling, tai chi and yoga. Mind-body therapies that include biofeedback and cognitive behavioral therapy can also decrease pain through better understanding of pain triggers and relaxation techniques.
